To me, keeping up with people is very important. Especially everyone who sees me as just text and links. You read stories and maybe see a picture of the author and think "Oh, okay, sure I know who they are now..." but as Kiara says it "That's only half of what I am."

I've left this page alone for quite some time and decided after the Illinois Convention that maybe I should expand on this part of me, let you see what everyone who runs into me on the streets sees.

If we meet on the street, I'll start out by insisting that I won't tell you my name. It's not a rude thing, I just have never been able to call myself anything. Over that Illinois trip I truly did enjoy calling myself Mirrani and it came as naturally to me as my real name should have, so I've thought of keeping it.

With that in mind, I thought I'd just go ahead and go through a list, get that annoying little bit out of the way: I go by many names, I'll answer to anything, but I'll just stick a few of the "mostly used" names down here.

Mirrani
Laura
The Writer
Gamma
Shade
Adrienne Neri
Just Adrienne or just Neri
Lurenna or Lurenth

Mirrani usually gets shortened to Mir. I didn't start that and was at first opposed to the idea of changing that particular name. The word is Russian for "peace," that wasn't what started the shortening of it, but it's what made me uneasy about it. Over the years I've come accustomed to the nickname and now if you get a mail from me, it's signed "-Mir."

Why do I sign with a dash? It comes from one of my nicknames I had to leave out. It's that golden symbol that pops up all over these pages. In one of the forms of writing that I do, symbols are required to tell various people apart. It's a form of play, I guess you could say. You know the format:

Lianne: I hope we see each other again!

I started using symbols to keep from having to type all the names all of the time. When a segment included me, I searched for a symbol that I most liked and picked that golden one above because it looked most like a capitol "L" with just a dash of something special. As I kept typing away hitting "alt 0163" all the time to get that symbol became quite the bother. Eventually I shortened the typing to simply L- and then l- quickly after that. I kept the dash in emails to represent the dash in the symbol because I resist all forms of change and it stuck after that. Now, no matter what form of letter you get from me, or how it's signed, you will always find the dash attached to the signature.

I use strange punctuation in my writings. Most of it you don't see but more and more of my oddities have started to creep out into my web pages. When I write, I don't always have time to write every word and when I revise I don't always have the time to fix every emotion. That's when "carats" and "schwinkies" come in to replace a period.

~ indicates sarcasm
^ indicates annoyance
^^ indicates deep anger

Often you'll see that if you're in an online chat with me, or if I've responded to a post or email and haven't been in the best of moods.

I try to be as quotable as possible. The latest quotes from my workplace are "I try" in response to something along the lines of "You're funny, Miss Laura" and "Oh Man" in response to just about anything else. Then there's the latest "Uh oh!" when the lights come on after nap.

Other than those I've had a few more notable ones...

"She's being a real frain to all her pens."
"Is this deja vu?"
"Hey! Get out of the sandbox, guys! That dirt's too dirty to play in!"
"Wait a minute, I'm not who I think I am!"
"I'm so lazy, I have to have everything done right away."
"What the heck's a request for information?"
"...otherwise you're just gonna have to do it against my better judgment..."
"Why throw out an empty kleenex box when you can use it as trash?"
"He's not the Thacker I thought Thacker was."
"I feel like a mother duck. Come along, little chickens."
"I wasn't pissed at him until he pissed me off!^^"
"The coyote is the predator and the cow is the grass."
"I will have e-mailed you before I get home."
"Talk to you in the next mail.. I've got to go spray everyone with maple syrup."
"One of these days I'll have to watch all three halves of that trilogy."

I try to say things to make people laugh, but it usually works better when I don't try and am not paying any attention to anything that I'm doing. My tendency to multitask has produced many a quote that's gone unsaved, I'm sorry to say.

Now I'm sure after visiting my pages you think that pink's just my favorite color in the entire world. And then you came here and saw my table and jumped back. Why cover myself in a color I can't stand? Colors are very important to me because of that previously mentioned form of writing. You see, before symbols each character had their own color pen. This started out with a ten-in-one pen and grew into a collection of over sixty something pens from HalmarkTM and various other places, all of different colors.

I went through that first ten color pen and picked a color that best suited the characters before I picked my own and Pink was the last one to be had. I tried to manipulate the exact color of it over the years. To this day you'll find all of my shades of Pink are still slightly different.

The Teal-ish color that keeps peeking up in these pages has more meaning than the pink to me. Though the Teal is my favored color, it ended up going to my character Telonna from the Alternate Universe stories. Her color would have been Pink if I hadn't had it already, sometimes these things come back to haunt you. I'm not sure if this makes the Teal a reminder of what I could be or if it's simply there to make me feel like the page has a piece of something I like inside, but it's become a tradition to add the color whenever I can.

The Blue colors in my pages have two shades.

The Blue that looks more faded or dark gray comes from the writings that started the color importance in the first place. I have a tendency to call that "Gamma Blue." Including that Blue on my pages reminds me of all of the wonderful times I've had as a Writer.

The richer Blue is the color associated with the Intendant. You'll find that on every page and most often swirled around with the pink that represents myself. It varies because I can never get it quite right, but with my Pink doing the same, it hardly seems unfitting.

To keep this from sounding like a dating service, I'll let you continue. Anything else that I come up with to put here, I'll make sure I insert at my next convenience. As always email me if you would like information on updates to my page.

Hope you enjoy what's left of my introduction. Thanks for stopping by to meet me.
