I was born in a hospital in Durham and lived a few days of my life there before I was taken to my true residence in Chapel Hill. I lived in the same condo for a few years, until the birth of my sister five years later, which had my family moving into a condo just across the parking lot from where I first lived. I spent my weekdays at school and my free time in the water or creating various works of art or literature.

By the age of about five, I'd guess, I started taping Star Trek and became a true "fan" of the show at that point in my life. This trait had a tendency to set me apart from my classmates and I had a difficult time making and keeping friends who would put up with my constant babbling about Captain Kirk, mister Spock and Doctor McCoy.

From a time before I can remember I have had one friend through my life that is my unchanging constant. Emily, now at school in Madison, Wisconsin. She was and forever will be the best friend that I ever had. We sheared Chicken Pocks together, have lost and found pieces of our childhood together and never fail to have an all out blast with the time that we share.

Years went on and found me in a Catholic school where most people were more interested in educating me to be one of them than developing my mind for the sake of education. This is most likely a prejudiced view because even as a child I knew that this wasn't what I believed in, but followed the path everyone marked for me with absolute precision.

I graduated from Saint Thomas More School after completing the sixth grade and still have fond memories of friends made and lost there. That year found my first boyfriend Ben, a relationship which would last for two years until we grew apart. It also witnessed my formation of a Star Trek club that lasted into my high school years before it disappeared into my past.

To this day I think of the Teachers I had and the events that occurred as a gift from the Prophets that formed what I am today.

My two middle school years saw me attending Phillips Middle School, where I found the Teachers were the best friends I would have for quite some time.

I made the Phillips Track Team my first year there and met a fellow teammate that I became closer to than I had ever expected or wanted. The best way to describe that relationship is that I trusted him a little too much more than I should have and put too much faith in his kind words.

One much warmer acquaintance made in my seventh grade year has turned into a friend and is now a very active part of my life. Will and I have remained friends through all of what time has had to offer. Now that he's moved to Florida, I really miss all those nights he pulled me out of the house against my wishes, so to speak. He was always encouraging me to be just a bit more active than I was socially and I'm glad of it.

This same year I finally made it to my first Star Trek convention.

My eighth grade year brought me another friend that I have kept in contact with, Autumn, a fellow Trek fan and crazy soul that I am very thankful to have as a friend.

It was in the eighth grade that I truly focused on my creative writing. I won several awards for my poetry and short stories, all a deciding factor in my faith in my ability. This year also saw the beginning of the strangest relationship I had ever been in. I met Mike and somehow ended up dating him for a year before we figured ourselves out and simply lost contact.

Life at Chapel Hill High School saw many ups and downs. By now my writing had become a serious part of my life and I wrote wherever I went.

My freshman year saw yet another boyfriend, Donovan. This was a man that greeted you by running up and letting out a loud "BAAAAH" not unlike a sheep, before disappearing or hiding behind someone else. Surprisingly the relationship lasted for two years before we went our separate ways.

My sophomore year I met Anne and we began a friendship which evolved into a relationship that lasted until just a few years ago, when our lives parted. This is probably the one and only "true love" that I will ever find and was certainly the closest friend (outside of Emily) that I have ever had.

My junior and senior years saw rough waters with a few of my friends and many lovers quarrels that I still regret. It was a time when my writing had consumed my very existence and these were the years when the many colored Pens grew in importance in my daily routine. By the time graduation rolled around I was happily looking into a career as Day Care Provider and eagerly awaiting the day when I would magically end up with a family of my own.

The last few years have seen me reunite with some old friends from High School and create new friends at the North Carolina School of Science and Math, where my father works and where Anne attended her last two years of high school.

Agrajag and Kara share my love of multicolored pens. Both are at their own colleges now and meet with me frequently online, whenever their schedule permits.

Jenny and Chase fall into the same category, only they come from Chapel Hill High. Chase is known for boosting my energy levels quite well and Jenny, who survived life at Saint Thomas More a year behind me, is known for opening me up to the world. Put me with these two and I am truly in my element.

And now, because of my activities with the fanclub, I've gained many more friends. Georg and Donna were the first two members I would actually meet and I have very close friendships with both. These two I feel I can tell everything and I share as much of my life as I can with them. Georg is in Germany and Donna is in Indiana, but we actually do meet up every once in a while, and certainly keep in touch over the net.

Marcus and Judy I've met more recently and have been building friendships with each of them as well. As with the rest of the fanclub, we keep in touch through email and messageboard posts and see each other at events and gatherings. Not as often as I'd like with Marcus being from Germany and Judy from Detroit, but it's always a joy to see them.

The fanclub has also brought me a new housemate. Shauna moved in after we met through the fanclub and we've been sharing lives, families and grocery store runs ever since.

I have so many other friends and memories, but to save this page from becoming a day to day history of my life I will send you on your way to discover whatever else you desire to know of the Terran Behind the Text. It means so much to share a part of myself with readers, I truly hope you have enjoyed this rather short and slightly bland look into what makes me who I am today.
