When first meeting me I come off as fairly shy. Unless you have had the pleasure of running into me while completely lost in my element (such as a Star Trek Convention) your first reaction would probably be to either ignore me after having to strike up a conversation or to turn your nose up at my absolute rudeness.

I freely admit I'm not one who knows much about the social ways of the world. I rarely introduce myself and quite often forget to introduce my friends to each other, but my intentions are good, I promise, I simply freeze up when caught in a situation of that sort.

My natural habitat is usually fairly clean. I do let the laundry and dishes pile up until it's time for the cleaning of the bathroom or kitchen, but other than that I prefer large messes to be out of my way. My closet and many other corners around the house get the short end of this deal, being pretty far away from my normal path of traffic.

Anywhere I live I quickly begin to decorate with pictures. I couldn't last a week without pictures of those closest to me put up in various places around my room. My walls quickly become covered with images as soon as I permanently change bedrooms. The locations closest to the bed hold the most importance to me. These are the faces I first see when I wake up and the images I last see before drifting off to sleep.

My newest move has left me with a slight dilemma in this field. I am slowly gaining pictures, but my walls are bare compared to what I left behind in the image at the top of the page. Beside my bed now I have only five pictures. Two are of the Intendant, (one, a card signed by Nana Visitor) and three of Nana Visitor taken by a friends at a conventions. All four Star Trek calendars cross the double doors of my closet at the foot of my bed and beside them is my small area dedicated to the Prophets.

I have a wall dedicated to Star Trek Birthdays. The pictures from the day to day calendar slowly get posted above my television set as the days come and go. By the end of the year this area consumes the entire wall.

My latest addition to the pictures I've collected is a gift from a friend in Germany, who drew a portrait of me with the Intendant, something I treasure always.

I'm a very artistic multitasker and spend all of my time working on some project that I have yet to complete. While painting a mirror collage I may be thinking of my next story line and how to end it as I happily tape an episode of Star Trek Voyager or watch Ally McBeal, Spin City, ReBoot or Dharma and Greg. The artistic side of me spreads through my artwork, to my writing, and into my job as I teach the children in my school how to make lizard puppets out of a single piece of paper and some glue, teach them all about water and the fun things you can do with ice and a pinch of salt, or even answer their questions on which line came next in the Lion King.

I've never really thought of myself as a particularly wonderful writer or artist. To me my works are not much more than average, but I take more pride in the fact that they express me in some way than I do over their existence or quality. I don't see myself as a true artist, writer or actor, and probably won't even if by some strange twist of nature something I have created appears on the walls of some famous art gallery or in the halls of a university library.

For the most part I'm a calm individual, but on occasion I've been known to break into an extreme emotional state or several different personalities. I never really considered myself someone who acted her age and for the most part I try to at least appear to be an adult, though I am convinced I fail miserably in this attempt quite often. My younger nature appears especially in times of great excitement or nervousness where the stress of a function or an activity close to my heart comes into my schedule. I have been known to set up vacations after just one thought and no other previous planning. I enjoy my ability to be spontaneous, but don't use it as often as I'd like.

I try to live my life plain and simple, without the collection or extra items that will eventually be thrown away. My Dragon and Pen collections, and Star Trek Memorabilia break this law, however and will be proudly displayed wherever I make my home.

Other than Star Trek, the simpler things in life keep me going. Music and a good book, friends and a night at the movies or a long walk on a beach at night where I can look up and just stare at the stars forever. I'm not someone to take shopping or help out in the kitchen, but when bribed with a promise of Trek or time with a good friend, I happily agree.

I am a person who tends to be very grateful to people who sign my guestbooks and send me input on my pages. I also enjoy making people smile now and again at a small joke or entertaining demand that I make. Others come first in my book of life and so I hope that these pages have introduced you to the Mirrani you've always wanted to know.
